Beaufortain Mountain Bike Area
The Beaufortain offers 41 trails, two bike parks, specially designed mountain bike routes, and shuttles so you can ride all day long. Tourist offices provide trail maps and guidebooks (from €3 to €7.50), with plenty of advice and recommendations to help you choose the most suitable route.
Arêches-Beaufort
Diverse and enjoyable trails for all levels. An exceptional ski area, with a playground for ski touring and freeriding enthusiasts. In summer, 500 km of trails to explore by mountain bike, trail running, or hiking.
The Fairy Lake
A crystal-clear gem set in a dreamlike setting 10 miles from the campground, Lac de Fées offers several beautiful family hikes through green mountain slopes and small streams. Allow half a day for the walk.
Saint-Guérin Dam
A magnificent view of the Saint-Guérin dam, a walk along the nearby lake, will take you past an impressive 80-meter-long footbridge overlooking the lake more than 20 meters above the water. Free shuttles: Beaufort in July and August.
Roselend Dam
The fourth highest dam in France, this monumental structure supplies the La Bâthie power plant alongside the La Gittaz and Saint-Guérin dams, offering breathtaking views of the mountains. Built between 1955 and 1962 thanks to the hard work of several thousand workers, today, in addition to the energy it produces, it offers lovely walks and hikes, as well as an ideal spot for fishermen. In summer, you may even be lucky enough to catch a glimpse of the Tour de France…
